Honouring the enduring legacy of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, the Mandela Day event at Sanctuary Mandela embraced a theme of Proudly South African. Set within the serene gardens and reflective spaces of this boutique retreat, which Mandela once called home, guests were immersed in thoughtfully curated exhibits celebrating Madiba’s life, vision and contributions to humanity. The evening featured a heartfelt dining experience prepared by Chef Xoliswa Ndoyiya, Mandela’s personal chef for over two decades, while a choir, National Choir League, performed traditional songs, creating a moving soundtrack that complemented the spirit of reflection, heritage and celebration throughout the evening.
